Philadelphia Trainers' Collaborative
The Philadelphia Trainers' Collaborative (PTC) is run collectively by community educators, organizers, and trainers who use education to transform people and communities. It's a place to share skills, tips and ideas. PTC has partnered with the Barbara Smith Community School at Bread & Roses Community Fund. Making Your Events Work for You: Successful Special Events

This session provides an introduction to planning and executing special events that match your organizational needs and fit seamlessly into your total development plan. Key topics will include: setting goals and expectations to appropriately measure success; the value and management of volunteers; the use of marketing and collateral materials; and the importance of establishing a follow-up plan that continues to engage your attendees long after the event itself. Whether your event welcomes five or 1500, this session will give you the practical tools necessary to review your current event roster and help you initiate successful events that match your organization's mission and resources.
About the facilitator:
Molly McAndrew is the Associate Director of Development for Individual Giving of Episcopal Community Services, an agency providing high-quality social and educational programs to vulnerable individuals and families in Philadelphia. Previously Molly was the Manager of Special Events at WOMEN'S WAY and has worked with Avenue of the Arts, Inc. and the Black Lily Film & Music Festival, among others. Molly has spent the past five years in Philadelphia building a strong background in individual giving, volunteer management and events oversight.
