Resource Generation and Bread & Roses Community Fund invite you to a
Social Justice Giving Plan Workshop
for Young People with Wealth
1500 Walnut Street, 2nd floor
Philadelphia, PA
June 22nd, 11am-3pm
(lunch provided)
Thought about giving, but don't know where to start? Been giving for a while and want to be more effective? Wondering about things like how to make a bigger impact with your giving?
Then come hear about other young donors' experiences in giving and create your own giving plan! This workshop is a great chance to learn more about social change philanthropy and pick up tons of tools and resources to help you jump start your giving.
Who: Young people (generally 18-35) with wealth who are interested in using their resources for social justice.
Who do we define as wealthy? The amount of wealth people have access to - or expect to have access to in the future - varies greatly from a few thousand to millions or more. This wealth comes from many sources including inheritances and earnings. Some people who are involved with Resource Generation have access to philanthropic resources (for example, as board members of family foundations) but do not have access to personal wealth. Another way to define wealth is as a US resident who has, or comes from a family that has, over $158,600 in annual household income qualifying them as one of the wealthiest 5% of people in the country.
Cost: The workshop is $45 - $80 sliding scale. The registration fee covers the fees for facilitators, a Giving Plan Booklet, and lunch. Please be in touch if you would like more information or if cost is a barrier to your participation.
Facilitators: Shaheen Nazerali and Tyrone Boucher.
Food will be provided. *Please indicate any dietary restrictions when you register.

Resource Generation is a national organization that works with young people with financial wealth who support and challenge each other to affect progressive social change through the creative, responsible, and strategic use of financial and other resources. Our constituents are young people, ages 18 to 35, who self-identify as wealthy. The Resource Generation community is inclusive of organizers, activists and trainers from diverse class backgrounds.
Bread & Roses Community Fundis a unique partnership of donors and activists who share a vision of a just society, one in which power and resources are distributed equitably. Bread & Roses raises money from individuals to provide grants, technical assistance and leadership development to support community-based organizations in the Delaware Valley that are taking collective action to bring about social change.
